At the Innoprom 2026 exhibition, Shvabe Holding, a part of Rostec State Corporation, introduced the 80mm Russian anamorphic cinema lens (e), marking a significant milestone for the domestic production of anamorphic cinema lenses in Russia. This achievement represents Russia’s first prototype of an anamorphic film lens. Developed by the Lytkarinsky Optical Glass Plant (LZOS) under Shvabe, the lens series offers four distinct focal lengths:
- 40mm
- 60mm
- 80mm (the first completed model displayed)
- 100mm
Each lens in the series features a 2x anamorphic squeeze and a standard PL mount, with additional adapters available for various mounts, specifically designed for digital cinema cameras.

Highlighted features of these lenses include:
- An ultra-wide field of view without the typical edge distortion and corner darkening seen in wide-angle spherical lenses.
- Unique cinematic characteristics, including distinct bokeh and flares.
- High image quality with a “unique picture” that differentiates them from many international competitors.
- A distinctive concave front element that facilitates the horizontal squeeze, maintaining the overall integrity of the image.
“Creating anamorphic lenses represents a critical advancement by a domestic manufacturer for the Russian film industry. Beyond the extended horizontal frames and superior image quality, these lenses enable the creation of exclusive cinematic effects. We plan to commence mass production of these film lenses next year, starting with an initial batch of four sets. Test copies are expected later this year and will be available to film studios at a cost lower than that of foreign counterparts,” stated Lev Borisov, Deputy General Director for Sales of Civilian Products at Shvabe Holding.
Development Timeline & Availability
- July 2026: Public debut of the ready-made 80mm model.
- Later in 2026: Test samples anticipated for film studio evaluation.
- 2027: Initiation of serial production with the first batch comprising four sets.
