In early June 2026, 2D House became the first in North America to offer the ZEISS Aatma lenses for rent, and they were immediately in high demand, indicating their potential popularity.
This milestone sets 2D House apart, expanding their comprehensive selection of gear and reinforcing their status as a leading source for filmmakers and commercial producers in pursuit of advanced cinema technology.
The full-frame prime lenses redefine cinematic optics by combining the unique character of classic Zeiss lenses with state-of-the-art optical engineering, meeting the needs of contemporary cinematography. The set includes nine T1.5 primes (18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm, 85mm, 100mm, and 135mm), which beautifully capture soft skin tones, artistic focus transitions, and lush soap-bubble bokeh, maintaining uniformity across all focal lengths. Additionally, the integration of Zeiss eXtended Data (XD) and CinCraft ecosystem optimizes the lenses for visual effects, camera tracking, and virtual production workflows.
“The Aatma lenses represent the first set in years from a major manufacturer that I find truly exciting,” says David Dvir, founder, president, and CEO of 2D House. “They have created their own unique category of lens.” With his background in still and motion photography, Dvir was particularly impressed by their test footage of outdoor scenery. “Capturing scenes like that can make it hard to define the foreground and background. The Aatma’s distinctive bokeh effect beautifully separates the planes, which I find highly appealing.”
Receiving the lenses in early June 2026, 2D House immediately saw them go out for rental. They anticipate these lenses will become a favorite for various production types, especially commercials and streaming narratives where both reliability and unique aesthetic qualities are crucial. “Clients have told me they remind them of Super Speeds,” Dvir notes.
