Kodak EC35 35mm Film Camera Revives Nostalgic Slide Cover Design

The newest release from Reto, the Kodak EC35 35mm film camera, pays homage to the classic slide cover, making it an appealing choice for photography enthusiasts seeking simplicity and style. Reto, known for its viral Kodak Charmera and the surprisingly efficient Snapic A1, unveils the EC35 as a chic, everyday companion that is as easy to use as it is visually captivating.

The EC35 is designed as a straightforward, point-and-shoot option, touted as ideal for beginners by removing the complexities often associated with film photography and focusing instead on the sheer joy of capturing moments. Resembling a disposable camera experience, this user-friendly device features manual wind and rewind, a fixed shutter speed of 1/100 second, and a 25mm lens with a fixed aperture of f/10. Additionally, it includes an electronic flash powered by a single AA battery. Weighing in at just 102 grams and measuring 119mm by 65mm by 41.5mm, this all-plastic camera is compact and lightweight. Its optical viewfinder is a simple window positioned above the lens.

While the EC35 doesn’t introduce groundbreaking camera technology, Reto emphasizes its aesthetic appeal, offering the camera in seven vibrant colors: midnight black, vanilla white, butter yellow, lavender, powder blue, blush pink, and avocado green. A standout feature is its tactile slide cover, which snaps securely over the lens and viewfinder, providing protection when stored in a bag. These covers, reminiscent of an era when they were prevalent, now offer a nostalgic touch rarely seen in contemporary designs.

“With a tactile slide cover for instant protection and an integrated flash, this camera is crafted to be effortlessly tossed into your bag, ready for those golden moments!” Reto exclaims.

Available now, the Kodak EC35 can be purchased alone or as part of a bundle, which includes a strap and a 24-frame roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 film, though the battery must be purchased separately. This release signifies Reto’s strongest partnership with Kodak to date, blending the timeless brand with Eastman Kodak’s authentic film product.

Priced at $35 for the standalone camera or $45 with the film bundle, the EC35 is accessible for both new and seasoned film photographers.
